Wow, nice smooth shave today with an Israeli in my HD. Let's hear it for our democratic ally in the middle east!
I have absolutely NO DOG in that fight, but -- Israel and Turkey (Derby) are AOK in my book![]()

That Israel and Turkey's militaries co-operate -- joint training, hardware upgrades, etc. When it comes to fearing the Syrian neighbour who cares about religion. The world is a complicated place.
Not only Leo's dad but Sophia and Max's too!
Not ironic at all... as two of the world's blade-producing superpowers, it is eminently sensible!
You have no idea HOW GOOD that shave was this morning:)

I'm still using LetterK's sampler... is there anyone out there who knows of a good Israeli source?

These are real ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Super-Israel...QQcmdZViewItem
There's another guy that has slightly better prices, but he doesn't have any for sale right now. I'll post the link when they're up.
Thanks, John!
First for getting me hooked, and now for your dealer's info:)
Now, to stock up on some feathers and I'll be good to go:)

Ebay sellers Howard1616 and DSShokey ot DSShotkey. Excellent sellers buy in confidence.

I was loving my 5-pack sampler of Israelis until yesterday. The last blade in the pack was bad. It tugs much more than the first four. I haven't heard much about Israeli inconsistency (except for the eBay fakes) but that was enough to make me buy Derby's instead. Before that incident, they were running neck-and-neck.

It's beem rumored that Israel has nuclear razors, but they officially deny it.

Still got about 95 IP and about 85 Derby blades, and yet, for some bizarre reason, I feel the need to buy 20 or 30 Feather blades.
Do I like the IP blades? Sure they're fine in some razors. Do I like the Derbys? Absolutely, they work in everything!
Why, then, if I have enough steel to shave for two years, do I feel the need to buy yet more shaprened steel? What is this feeling?
I'm sooooo gone.
Peace,
Pierre

So, I guess the red package Perosnnas are not Israeli? They still give a nice shave though, so that's at least some consolation.Originally Posted by letterk
edit: I searched...dangit, they are NOT IPs....nice to have an ebayer claim they were. This time around I'll look for the right box.

Only 20 or 30 Feathers? What's up with that? You need to buy at least 100 Feathers to keep your blade stash 'in balance.'Originally Posted by vox_rox

Happy Shaving, Ron the Potty Doctor
Before I got letterk's sampler pack - I had been shaving with the german Wilkinson blades. They were ok on my slightly tougher grain beard; albeit slightly harsh - as I could feel a layer of skin removed with just one pass with few nicks & cuts.
The Israeli Personna's were the first blade I tried from the pack, and against the baseline performance of Wilkinson's - they did not do anything for me. Although, I got an acceptable shave, it did drag against my skin a bit and were useless after one shave. The Derby was a bit more acceptable, and performed slightly better by giving a closer shave.
I am about to try the Merkur a bit later, to see how they perform. I will save the Feather's till last!
YMMV
Right now I'd say the Israelis, Derbys, and Feathers are in the same group for quality of shaves, excellent. Some subtle differences but I'd be happy using any one of these blades.
Currently using Feathers and really enjoying the shaves. No irritation and very smooth. I'll give a lot of the credit to the razor as well, a Gillette Slim adjustable.
And hell yes, YMMV!![]()
