Yes, you will get used to it! The nice thing about a heavier razor is they require less pressure to get a good shave. That is a great razor you have there. Just let the weight of the head do the work for you and enjoy the ride!

how do the gillette adjustables compare to the futur in size and weight? I started with the futur and have been disapointed with the size of the one piece gillettes b/c they look and feel like toys next to the futur.

Just look for the balance and you'll be fine.

My favorite razor is a '70 and looks just like that.
I think you'll come to actually appreciate the heft of it before long.
