Caveat emptor

Recently I ordered some shaving supplies through a seller on Amazon. The seller was "Royal Shave".

Along with some blades I also ordered this "Nickel Shaving Bowl" for $20.

What a cheap pile of cr@p it's not worth 20 cents. Stamped out, thin walled and tiny. I could easily crush it in my hand. So small and shallow that the majority of the lather slops over the side.

What's the problem? They clearly stated the value of the bowl- a nickel.

make a note of it via Amazon- rate it and let others know.

If it sucks so bad, why don't you just return it?

Jeez, that doesn't even look good in the picture.

But it's made in Italy.

It must be good, right?

I don't have one of these bowls, but I have had a couple of successful transactions for other products with CB.

I'm sorry to hear you've been ripped off and I know the internet can present a

few problems in relation to buying stuff.

I ended buying two stainless steel pet feeding bowls of 11cm diameter for

about £3 including postage of ebay becuase they seemed a much better

prospect than paying £15 - £20 for a specific shaving bowl.

I also use a large cappucino cup bought for £2 for my soap rounds (100 gram

size) and its excellent as they are a very good fit.

In order to stop them slipping I use a small bit of soft tallow shaving stick (like palmolive) to adhere them to the bottom of the cup so they don't spin round and it works a treat.

Thanks everyone. I was a little disappointed at first as you may have noticed! Over it now.

For a lousy $20 I'm not sure it's worth the time and trouble to return.

I added comments to the review section on Amazon and more importantly, I let folks here know. Perhaps others will benefit from this in the future.
