Default Colognes that mimic Musgo A/S

    Good Morning again Folks,

I really enjoy the scent of Musgo Real A/S and would love to find a cologne that smells the same (or at least pairs nicely with the A/S).

The description states that Musgo is based on vetyver & patchouli fragrances but I'm not very familiar with these components independently.

Are any of the three colognes offered by Musgo close to the aftershave? Are there other suggestions that you have? Thanks again for the wealth of knowledge found on this board!

The three Musgo scents, while very nice, have nothing to do with the A/S whatsoever.

If you like the Musgo theme, I might recommend something like Taylor's Mr. Taylor cologne. Crisp and herbaceous.

Are you referring to the A/S balm or to the alcohol-based Aqua de Colonia after-shave lotion? If you're using the alcohol-based lotion, which has a nice, bright, rather long-lasting scent, and still want to where a cologne, then Aqua de Colonia is the product to use. I suspect that the majority of men who own Aqua de Colonia use it as a cologne and not as an after-shave. It serves very, very well as a cologne. If you're referring to the A/S balm, which has a nice, very mild, rather short-lived scent, then again the Aqua de Colonia, used as a cologne, is about the best product there is for complementing the A/S balm. I am familiar with and use the Mr. Taylor A/S balm, cologne, and shave cream. The scents are IMO very nice, but it wouldn't occur to me to combine either the Mr. Taylor balm or the Mr. Taylor cologne with the Musgo Real classic scent.

The question was relative to the A/S splash.

I think it goes very well with SCS Oakmoss Lavendula cologne. GREAT combo, and Sue says she'll be bringing that scent back toward the end of the month. Can't recommend it highly enough as a great finishing touch for your Musgo morning.

I would second the Mr. Taylor suggestion.

    Hey Folks,

Thanks for the recommendations for the Mr. Taylor's and Sue's Oakmoss colognes.

I just tried the musgo A/S again this morning and 95% of the scent was gone in under two hours. Seemingly, my skin enjoys the product as much as the rest of me... it just slurps it up

I find Mr. Taylor fragrance to be of a much more predominant citrus character than the Musgo Real A/S, IMO.

I would go to L'Occitane and try out some of their scents, they have many that are very herbal as is the Musgo Real, you may find a nice compliment.

Frank, I just a new cologne that does Exactly what you want! Abercrombie and Fitch Woods. It's discontinued so you are going to have to look on Ebay for it, but the scent in incredibly close to the Musgo Splash. I"d really look into it. I actually just put both on, they aren't identical but its a very nice compliment. I'd check it out.

Anyone else have any input? I love the Musgo Real A/S, but the scent doesn't last. Anything in a EDT that compares favorably?
