Lux Interior dead

Sad to hear the news that Lux Interior of The Cramps passed away today.

I only saw them once, at the Peppermint Lounge in NYC in the early 80s, but that was some show. Lux was pretty disturbing to see up close, somebody once described him as a mixture of Elvis and Vincent Price.

Kid Congo Powers was on 2nd guitar at that time, playing an old Explorer with Mexican wrestler mask stickers on it. :thumbup1:

He was fearless. Bad Music for Bad People was my first Cramps album. I liked the band, and they certainly opened up the psychobilly genre. <sigh> good luck finding musical innovators like him anymore. We'll just sit here and let the next "American Idol" turn out more soulless, empty musical garbage. Great.

First Ron Asheton and now Lux.

This year's dead pool sucks already.

Say it is not so, The Cramps were part of my expansive soundtrack as teen growing up in the suburbs of Greater Toronto.

Today's Alt rock sucks.

The Stranglers and The Cramps were the first two concerts I took Mrs. Ouch to.

I know, I know- I'm a hopeless romantic.

He will definitely be missed. I was a late comer to their great music, but I love rocking out to "Like a Bad Girl Should". RIP, Lux.
