Default Weak British Sterling = Good price

I was looking at the recent drop in the GBP vs. USD. Looking at Kentbrushes on eBay, the value seemed more reasonable than before, even with steep shipping (though it is being sent oversea).

I purchased a Kent Military Brush I was eying as well as a Kent Shave Soap in wood bowl.

    Military Bristle Brush - $14

Shave Soap with wood bowl - $9

Combined shipping (from England to West Coast USA) was $15. Definitely fair prices.

I did too... now - is this the Kent's wool fat soap? (this is my problem, see, I click "buy" first, ask questions later!)

if yes, this is a helluva deal! I've seen this for $44, $35, etc... before shipping. Last week at Pasteur Pharmacy in NYC, I saw this for over $40 - the Mitchell's Wool Fat (in bowl) was cheaper.

I'm very excited - thanks for the tip! (the Kent dbay store doesn't seem to discount their shaving brushes quite so deeply... sadly.)

    Default on the Kent website

the soap in bowl is 15 GBP - $21.75 USD - before shipping, so a good deal, no matter what all else! (looks like the wool fat soap to me....)

Depending on shipping and how much other stuff you buy from this place, this could be a good deal, especially the refill.

I have that same brush. I absolutely love it. I've used it every day for the past 5 years or so since I've bought it.

Kent also makes a very good double sided clothes brush that you can use to brush suits, sportcoats, etc. instead of overdoing the drycleaning.

I heard of quality problems with the shaving-set from that ebay-seller.

    So, be careful with that.

I have also heard the Kent soap is "the same" as Michell's Wool Fat. Personally the MWF ceramic container is much nicer. I just don't think it is worth the cost. I am more concerned with the soap.

I hope the price stays down until we get our tax return. Then I will need some Kent advice. I was thinking BAK4, but if it is too small I will want something bigger.
