Omega Proffesional Brush/Shave Cream Combo

Does anybody know if this is the same brush (Model 10049) that everybody seems happy with. The reason I ask is you get a huge tube of Omega shave cream and the brush for several dollars less than the standalone brush. This is a link to one of the deals. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

The Omega Professional model 10049, along with the 10048, are two of the most popular boar brushes in the Omega line. I am very happy with my 10049 and I think they represent one of the best values around. The brush you linked which comes with a tube of cream appears to be the 10049, although Sesto Senso does not seem to use model numbers so it might be best to confirm with them. If it is, then it seems like an exceptional deal. As far as I know the 10049 is the only professional model that comes in red, which might be the reason for the bargain price since red is most likely their slowest moving handle color. I hopes this helps.

I did some searching the other night on this exact package (brush & tube of cream), & came to this conslusion- the brush shown in the photo(s) is not the Pro 10049. I finally found a better picture, then tried matching the brush shown to Omega pictures at Razor & Brush and the Omega site. The handle shape matches *exactly* the model 10072, at Razor & brush for $11, height 4.13 inches according to the Omega site. Razor & Brush shows it with red/white & black/white handles, & Omega site shows it with red/clear & black/clear handles. The brush in question looks like the same brush but with a red/red handle. I may be wrong, but remember that the 10049 is a hair over 5 inches tall, with a larger knot, & would, I believe, look much larger next to the tube of cream.

Can anyone tell us how long the tube of Omega cream is? If it's about 8", the brush shown seems to be just about half as long. A 5" brush, stood alongside, should seem longer than half.

Having said all that- I saw the same pkg on Evilbay for $11.95 + $5.95 shipping- which is still a good deal. Not *as* good, but still pretty good. I suspect the ad people got carried away & called it a pro. Note in the link above that the ad above the tube/brush shows the bowl/brush, also calls that a pro brush- but it's clearly the 10065 brush, which is also 4.13" tall, I have its black-striped twin. Hey,the power of positve thinking! :)

Or maybe the pix are wrong & it really does include the 049 "Pro" model brush. Has anyone bought this package yet?

The link I provided (there are several sites that have this deal for about the same price) listed the brush at 5 1/4". Maybe somebody has bought it and can tell us.
