Standard-issue Old-Type in Bulldog case?

Here is a recent eBay acquisition. If my research is correct (Achim's page), this is the case for a 1918 Bulldog.

The razor, however, appears to be a pretty standard Old-Type.
Serial # on the razor is H62(undermined)644. The number I am unsure of is rubbed-away on the bottom. Looks like it may be the top of a 3 or a 7. I think the serial # puts the razor in 1918 as well.





Awaiting the great Gillette Sherlock's as usual.

From what I've seen, the Standards and the Bulldogs were often both found in the same cases with the Bulldog being more of a higher line set.

Not a real problem though. I'm sure she's a fine shaver.

Page 143 of Krumholz has a set containing a single ring Standard like your with the exact same blade cases. I would feel pretty confident that the razor belongs to the case.

I really appreciate you always thumbing-through Krumholz for me Guido. But at the same time, I know you love it.

I will get a copy of that book some day!
