Default After all of your samplings, what blades are still in rotation for you?

I used Derbys for a long time until I realized I didn't like them. I'm starting to feel the same way about German Wilkinsons.

    Blades I still use:

    1. Gillette Swede
    2. Polsilver
    3. Red Personna
    4. NOS UK Wilkinson
    5. Kai
    6. Gillette 7o'clock green Russia
    7. Israeli Crystal
    Gene

at this point.. all of them... OK, not Dorco ST-300... those are out.

    Top contenders:
    KAI
    7 O'Clock variations
    Astra
    Red Personnas

Probably Crystals & Derbys. I didn't give up on them, it just has been a while since I used one.

Oddly, Derby is the only brand I've kept in my rotation. Occasionally a Feather slips in there, but rarely enough that I don't count them.

Two blades I have the most of:

Treet Durasharp Classic coated carbon steel

    Dorco ST-301

The Dorco was my first bulk purchase, and I still use them while travelling.

The Treet I use most of the time, except when I'm bored, like last week. I used a Crown Super Stainless, which was one of five Lord-brand free samples received with an order from Gianni. The Crown and two of the other Lord samples are PTFE coated, and it gave 5 good shaves.

These days, Red Personnas are my go to blades. I keep meaning to revisit Derbys because I remember liking them so much, but there are too many in my cabinet still to try. Still looking forward to sampling NOS Wilks, Swedes and Astras.

After trying out perhaps a dozen different brands, I've settled in on two:

Feather blades in my 39C slant, for when I have several days of stubble and I need something FIERCE to shave with.

Astra-SP blades in my 34G, for when I want an easier, less aggressive shave.

I rarely use either blade more than twice before tossing it out.

Almsot exclusively red Personnas. I have a few Wilkinson Swords I will use in a pinch, but with nearly 400 reds, I don't see any pinches coming along any time soon.

Almost exclusively Red Personnas now, I haven't found anything better and don't imagine I will any time soon. I've also tried "stretching" them and they give me up to 6 super smooth, irritation-free shaves.

I have two go-to blades these days: Feathers and Gillette 7 o'clock Yellows, both cryogenically treated (details/review forthcoming!). I use the 7 o'clocks on days when I need something a little less fierce than the ninja-assassins.

Derby (in my Superspeed - my normal go to - so 600+ on hand)
UK Wilkinsons (in my Tech - my travelling setup - so ~180 on hand)
Gillette Platinums (from Poland - in both - smoking local deal - ~120 on hand)
Feather (in both - if I see a smoking deal I'll get another 50 or so of these)

    Crystals.
Pretty much the best for my skin in all razors. I had thought dorcos were my go-to until I gave the crystals another shot.

I think I have made my point.

Derbys are, for me, the perfect blend of sharpness yet still with a forgiving nature.

Crystals and Red Personnas. Hands down these are the two best blades for my face.

I primarily rotate between Gillette Swedes and Derby. I also use Wilkinson Sword and Feather to mix it up from time to time.

    Currently in use:

Israeli Super+ Platinum (the real IP) / Crystal
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (Russia)

    Some that almost made it:

    Dorco ST-301
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Green (Russia)

    Those that didn't make it:

    Dorco ST-300
    Derby
Red-pack Personnas (but I may go back and try these again)
    Wilkinson (made in Germany)
    Bic (made in Greece)

    Left to try:

    Gillette 7 O'Clock Green (India)
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Black (India)
    Astra Superior
(no interest in Feathers or Sweeds, as I don't want to like something I would feel guilty buying)
