Hey
I've been wondering what in the world do the little numbers on the DE blades mean? 1,2,3,4....
I've been searching like mad trying to find mention of this, but as of yet I can't find anything.
It must be useful for something!

Absolutely nothing. Don't worry about it, or waste your time.
Unless they're old Gillette blades, where the extra letter and number is a date of manufacture code:
The E3 means they were made 3Q of 1959.
Not Gillette? No idea.
You CAN use them as a mark to help identify which side of the blade you've already used if you are flipping them over (for prolonged sharpness). Aside that hey're supposed to be related to the production process.
