    Default Columbus, Ohio newbie here

I just purchased a Gillette Super Speed from ebay for < $20 w/ shipping. I had a period of time with a straight razor but found maintaining the edge to be an exercise in tedium so I went back to my Fusion. Now I'm just plain tired of paying fat $$$ for cartridges, want the best shave I can get and actually enjoy the manly process of REALLY shaving.

Hope I made a good choice in the razor! :)

I am in C-bus also, and also new here. Have fun, hope you enjoy your Gillette. I've got a Superspeed and a Merkur Progress on the way to me.

Cool! You'll have to let me know how the Merkur is. All my reading indicated that they're pretty agressive so I decided against one.

Oh, and what is a flare tip? cool that this razor has one, or is that the model?? lol!

ah, I see now - I bought a later variant gillette super speed flare tip, manufactured between 1954 and 1968.

No way! From the pic, it looks great! I own about 8 Super Speeds and will usually use one at least once a week. They are great shavers and are great for people who are just starting wet shaving because they give a mild shave.

How about them "Blue Jackets"! You've picked the perfect razor to start with. I have always loved my super speeds.
