    Default Clix Safety Razor

This one was included in a small lot. Has what looks like either a bakelite or plastic handle. I am curious as to when these were made. Is anyone familiar with a Clix razor made in USA ?

    Gonzalo,
I've not heard of it, hopefully someone else on here has.
    How does it shave?

Haven't tried it yet John. Just finished cleaning it today. I just put a blade in it and was quite surprised to see how high it sits above the comb. Reminicent of the spacing seen on the Futurs. You can see how steep the drop is on the blade base in the picture above.

Finally got to use this one today for the first time. I am really impressed by the performance of this unimpressive looking razor. I had doubts at first since the handle is so light. But the head of it is very heavy. Its weight helps guide it along the face with the appropriate pressure. I was not expecting what it delivered...a very smooth, fast shave.
I'm still trying to find some history and marketing information about this US made Clix razor. Google hasn't come up with much (just one obscure ad).

Apparently it's a product from the 1940's. Here's a couple of links with pictures, no other information.

Yes JP, that's all the info I came up with as well. Clix single edge razor blades have shown up for auction at ebay. But this razor takes double edge blades. So I would assume that they also made other razors as well. Maybe there are some old timers here that can shed some light on Clix.

Anymore luck on the Clix info? I recently found one in my uncles stuff. Mine has a copper colored head with safety bar. There was also a Gillette comb head in with mine that fits the handle. I got them all cleaned and polished. It does shave very well. I too was concerned about the space between the comb bar and the blade. I was afraid of an overly aggressive shave, but that is not at all the case. So far a great find
