    Default cornhuskers

    I think cornhuskers lotion is highly underrated.

    Not only is it great for the hands, but it also does a great job of healing and protecting the face and neck after a shave, especially in the winter months.

    In terms of the smell, which is mild but sort of odd, the simple solution is applying a shot of good cologne or aftershave beforehand.

    So, what about it? Any others in here "got love" for cornhuskers?

    I mix it 50/50 with water and use it for my last, blade buffing pass. I also apply a mix of 3 parts witch hazel with 1 part cornhuskers directly after my shave. It tones, stops any weepers, and moisturizes. When I use witch hazel straight it tends to tighten up my face too much. But a little cornhuskers seems to balance it out.

    I wish they sold it in gallon jugs.

    I use it when the weather is cold and windy. I put a small drop in my hands and then add a shake or two of an aftershave and BAM! a custom mix, moisture sealer like skin food.

    CHL + AG + WH = excellent AS

    add some Nivea ASB and make a really nice AS Milk

    CHL= Corn Huskers
    AG = Aloe Gel
    WH = Witch Hazel

    Start with even amounts of CHL and AG and add some WH until you get the consistency YOU like

    My dad used cornhuskers for years and so have I.

    Great tip about adding an AS to it.

    CHL is a good pre-shave. Spread a small dab on a wet face, prior to face lathering with a good shave soap.

    I use it for a pre-shave, post-shave and on my hands and feet. It's good stuff. My hands and feet are very dry and cracked. I've tried several different lotions even a prescription one that cost me $17 and it didn't come close to the Corn Huskers.

    I've had a bottle for a bit, but haven't tried it yet. I may put some on my face and hands before bedtime to give it a shot.

    Fan o' the Cornhuskers for many years. Never thought to use it for shaving related functions. Interesting homemade concoctions here. Don't know that I'll try any of them, but I will definitely continue my use of Cornhuskers Lotion.

    I use it on the days between shaves. It seems to relieve some of the dryness / itching.

    CHL works great as a pre-shave.

    After Shave Balm

    Attention, guys: Here's another reason to rely on Corn Huskers. Many men use the product as an after shave balm to soothe and comfort their skin. Some even report using it pre-shave by massaging it into the skin to soften the hair.

    I love this stuff! I use a little as pre shave, and also as an aftershave although I also use some other stuff along with it as an aftershave. Great on the hands and other dry areas. Great price too!

    I actually apply CHL on my moist face before each pass. The blade just glides along my face this way.

    CHL is a staple of my aftershave regiment in the cold Wisconsin winters. I find that no matter how bad my shave is, my skin shows no sign of irritation later on in the day after I put this stuff on. After my shaves I:

    - Rinse with cold water for a few minutes
    - Splash my face with Aqua Velva and let that settle for a few minutes
    - Spray on some Thayer's Rose WH and let that evaporate on it's own
    - Finish up with a thin layer of CHL.

    I can't say whether or not the contributions from these other steps are what's giving me great skin after my shaves but based on how bad the burn is sometimes when I put on AV, it's a wonder that my skin can feel so soft and moisturized late in the day. I've deduced that it has to be CHL.

    I like the idea of thinning it with something - it's some syrupy stuff!

    This stuff is grrreat! And cheap. Hopefully it is never relabeled and gouged. I never thought to use it for shaving before. Thank you Mantic.
