How many are there? or which boars become soft early or badger that stay stiff longer?
How many are there? or which boars become soft early or badger that stay stiff longer?
i got the "Grosvenor" Bristle & Badger brush from www.diamondedgeltd.com
and it is a great brush, i then bought the Pure version from Vulfix ( they are both numbered the 404 )
both have approx the following diamentions
Handle - 52mm
Loft - 52mm
Knot - 23mm
Handle - 36/28mm
Bloom/Flare - 60mm - 80mm on the Pure after some use
i like both brushes the only real difference is the mix has more backbone, i started out with hard soaps and face lathering and the Grosvenor suited that well as it held more water than my boar brush.
so far the Pure has been used for creams and lather was made in a bowl - worked pretty well but my Edwin Jagger Best arrived today so i will have something else to compare it to.
hope this helps

Hando, thanks for the info. the site only has a breush that's "Generously-filled pure badger luxury brush?" i didn't see another Grosvenor.
it is the brush 3 down from that one, branded the Vulfix 404.
if you go to Vulfix's website and look at the London series of brushes the 404 is the Pure i bought from them and the mix from diamondedge is nearly identicle handle wise.
there is also a badger/boar brush at em's place called the "mayfair" but i don't think they do international shipping?
i think this is the Vulfix 403
not sure where you live so p+p will decide where you buy from if you go for it.
again this isn't a brush for creams & bowl lathering (i've never face lathered cream) but i do like it for soap & face lathering, gives your chops a good scrub!
hope this helps?
Hando
