Default What's the best "leather" cologne?

I love the smell of leather. I'm running out of my supply of "White Russian" which has been discontinued. It has a wonderful, warm, buttery, smoky leather smell that is just intoxicating. So, I'll soon be looking for a replacement but with all the choices out there, I don't know where to start.
You've got your English leathers, Russian Leathers, Spanish Leathers, Persian Leathers, Ottaman Leathers, etc.
I'm assuming White Russian is a "Russian Leather". Went to my local Von Maur yesterday because I wanted to try some Creed Royal English Leather and Cuir Russie. They had about a dozen Creed fragrances on hand but they don't carry either of the two I wanted to try. The helpful lady suggested about a half dozen other "leather" scents, but to be honest, I couldn't detect leather in any of them.
    Suggestions?

We had this same discussion just a couple months ago because I too was looking for a good leather cologne. Spanish Leather from Truefitt and Hill is not bad, but there is... something... oh, I dunno, off about it. Maybe it is a bit too synthetic smelling or like that. But the scent is not bad. I believe the other scents metioned to look at were John Varvatos and Knize Ten.

I have the Knize Ten. I don't get a lot of leather from it, more powder and "band-aid scent", unfortunately. I find the Truefitt & Hill offerings a bit too soapy, but otherwise pretty good. John Varvatos might be something to look into. Thanks for the tips.

Royal English Leather and Cuir de Russie by Creed are my favorite leather scents.

Neiman Marcus always has it in stock (almost always). If you call the one closest to you and they don't have it they can get it from another store. Also, if you call and speak to the clerk they may be able to send you samples of those two fragrances if you are unsure which one you would like.

    Good Luck!

    I love T&H's Spanish Leather.

That was one I let the wife pick out at Colonial...

I just picked-up my first bottle of T&H Spanish Leather about two weeks ago. I really like this scent!

Knize Ten is very aristocratic, I like it but I also find traces of new car smell in it, now a Rolls Royce with Leather seats, but still a new car. I've read good things about Royal English Leather by Creed, but I have no first hand experience with this one.

It gets often overlooked, but Penhaligon's Lords (aka "Duoro") is a combination of lemon-citrus scents and dry, sun-baked leather.

I don't think that it would be an ideal winter scent, but for summertime scents, it's hard to beat.

I often think that it best describes the fragrance associated with the 16th century, on merchant ships making routes from Spain and abroad. Eclectic, but easily identifible... it's not a fragrance that you're likely to encounter when wearing it.

    Default Varvatos

I like the John Varvatos. Good intensity, balance, soft leather with other notes such as musk and light citrus.
