Default Mama Bear / TSD soaps ???

Can anyone advise how Mama Bear or TSD soaps compare to HBS, TGQ or QED soaps?

I'm mostly interested in texture/lather. I like HBS & TGQ; they're different, but both feel good to me, and I could elaborate reasons why I like both in my arsenal. I'm less a fan of QED soap - I don't care for the heightened slickness of the 'straight glycerin' soaps.

So, I'd welcome input from anyone who can provide a comparison between one (or more) from 'column A' and one (or more) from 'column B'.

    Thanks.

The Mama Bear soaps will be closer to QED than HBS or TGQ soaps.

The Mama bears lathered easier for me and overall gave a better shave than QED. Unfortunately, I'm not able to use the Honeybee soaps because they irritate my skin.

I have TSD and Mama Bear soaps and love both of them.
    YMMV? I don't think so.

I wish I could be in a spot to answer that exact question. I'm not. I'm 49 and I've used an amazingly short list of stuff. Williams, colgate, Noxema, Noxema Brushless (this was my favourite for a long time) . . . etc. I'm not sure how I found myself on Badger & Blade other than having a bit of time on my hand and being er bothered at paying $4 per blade for some new razor. . . . The second purchase I made related to shaving was 5 different Mama Bear Shaving Soaps. It is amost a year now . . . and I've had much joy from all of the ones I recived. I'm well down on the Green Irish Tweed type, and the Dioginese Club (I'm a big Mystery fan . . . and somehow this smells like I expect a shaving soap to smell). And here we are the 20th of Jan and I'm using . . . still Frankincense and Myrrh.

Handy it is not. I never gave her the base information, just taught her what to do with the base. I am sure her soaps are excellent, but they are not the same as mine.

I can vouch for the Tuscan Memories, Rosemary mint, and Trade Winds all being very nice scents! I love MB and TSD very much. TGQ and HBS dont get as much love. I prefer the TSD performance though. I believe the addition of clay really helps alot. Like I said....both are very good performers. TSD are all $7 which is nice and the tub is a plus b/c the lather stays inside....much neater.

Depending on the scent, I experience irritation from MB, TGQ, and HBS. I've never tried TSD though.

That said, in order of performance preference, for me, MB is like a 10/10. TGQ is like a 9.75/10. HBS was like a 7/10. It didn't lather very easily, and it smelled "cheaper" than the other two brands. Shaved really well though.

Scent-wise, I LOVE the TGQ stuff. It's more complex and grown-up. Very sophisticated smelling to me. The Highlander is just great.

Here's a big thumbs up for TGQ.

Colleen has a great soap and is good with the scents as well - especially her all EO products.

She also sells trial sizes of all of her products for very reasonable prices.

I HATE the sizing of those mini pucks.

They suck in any container. They slide all over the place.

But, damn, they smell SOOOOOO Good.

You're using them wrong - I use mine like mini-shave sticks - just rub the puck on your mug and lather up - works great.

Yeah, I tried that too, but I still like a loaded brush. I don't enjoy shavesticking.

The sample mini pucks fit well into the palm of your hand for easy loading of your brush and they won't move around on you.

I just zap in the microwave (very carefully) to melt them onto the bottom of a small ziploc container and they do fine when charging up the brush.

They fit pretty well in one of those Currier & Ives shaving mugs that are always up on ebay. There's just a little bit of wiggle room at the bottom.
