Default Right under my Nose, the whole time...

Those darn hairs under my nose! They're so light, I ususally dont see them until my face is all dry!

I cant seem to get them!

    HELP!

I know they are there, so I try and try and try to get them with my regular shave. I've used both a gillette and merkur and have the same problem.

During my shave I stretch my face, pull back my nose, push my nose with my razor... I've tried it all. I'm to the point where I would consider buying a new tool if one existed!

Any suggestions? These hairs are slightly above my where my nostrils and central part of my nose start, which I think add to the difficult of getting them.

I suppose I could use the back of my gillette Fusion, but that seems silly...

I must be missing something! HELP!

    Please?

I keep my old Gillette Sensor handy for when I need to get up close under my nose. Some of the heads of my DE razors won't allow me to get close enough to get those stragglers like you describe. The Sensor cartridge is very small and gets into those small and tight places very easily and without all the fuss.

    Default Stretch

I pull up and to the side (opposite the nostril I am shaving) to get my beak out of the way. Stretch it hard, and then pull your top lip into your mouth - its surprising how much room you can make for the razor head.

*be careful - the first time I tried toget in there, I sliced my nostril!

Yes. I now have two cuts on my nose from trying to angle it just right.

I've tried the lip thing while pushing the nose up with the Razor.

Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough! I was looking today at the mustache trimmer as well as some shavettes thinking they would do the trick... but thats a little extreme I think!

My XTG pass under the nose usually drifts ever so slightly up into nostril territory. WTG is pretty much useless in that regard, I've found. The XTG pass requires more care, but is effective, at least for me.

I either use the blade on the back of a Fusion, shave sideways, or go WTG.

I have a goatee and need to nail those suckers as well. I have a Wacker's hairdresser's trimmer that I use to trim the edges of the goatee, using it as a str8 edge. Hairdressers use it for cleaning up the back of your neck after a haircut. I found Personna blades for it at Sally's. The razor comes in two sizes and I like the smaller one better, though I'm using the same size blades. Not sure if they make smaller blades yet. The Personna blades are sharp enough to snipe em hair by hair. I got the smaller Wecker at a flea market for $1, but I'm sure Sallys would carry it. I also have Wacker blades that I've yet to try.

    what razor are you using?

When i use something with a fairly big head (like a fatboy) I cant get all the hairs there perfectly, but one something with a much more low-rise head (like a tech) its much easier to get those straggler hairs.

    With my Futur its impossible.

With #66 its a little easier, but still I miss a couple. =(

So far, I'm just working on different techniques before I use a different tool.

I figure my great grandaddy had to get them somehow...
