Default Tips for warm face lathering in cold weather?

Recently I have been exclusively face lathering, as I believe it is a superior method, since time spent building the lather on one's face is that much more time for the beard to hydrate and soften. I typically use shave cream from a tub or jar, but find it a little cold when first applying to the face on these cold winter mornings. Dipping the cream filled bristles in hot water before going to the face before building the lather helps, but that can upset the water ratio if one is not careful. I do not use one of those electric hot water pots to superheat the water, instead have ~125 F hot tap water. In short, I find that a warm brush with cold tips is not the best experience, and I am looking to improve.

My question would be, what should I do to improve my technique??
-Get an electric kettle to overheat the brush to compensate for the cold cream?
-Start with a dryer brush when I first load the cream, so that I have to add more hot water building much lather?
-Try triple-milled soap instead (I suspect that would not be as cold)?
-Give up and go back to bowl lathering (and/or get a scuttle)?
    -Wait until summer?
    Thanks.

You could always pre heat the cream tub But then again it's a perfect excuse for trying tripple milled soaps. They're darn efficient and in fact not as cold as the cream.
    Hope I could help you.

    Default Get a Scuttle

Get a scuttle (I have a Moss) and put your brush in there before you get the cream for your first pass (warm brush and cold cream), or after loading your brush, stick it in the scuttle for a while before going to your face (warm brush and warm cream).

Get a scuttle. I have the small Moss scuttle and it performs spectacularly. I tend to like to keep my apartment cool, even in the winter. When you combine that with the fact that my place is old and lacks decent insulation in the walls my bathroom tends to be quite chilly this time of year. However, utilizing my scuttle, the brush is quite warm every time I put it to my face. The Moss is a tad expensive, but over the long haul, it is completely worth it.

I don't have a scuttle (yet), so I use a bowl. I put my towel in the basin, bowl w/ brush on top of that, then fill the basin with hot water until the water reaches the top of the bowl. This heats things up until I get out of my shower, then I make the lather in the bowl, replace the bowl in the hot water (or draw fresh, hotter water), while I soak my face with the towel. More work than a scuttle, but cheaper initial outlay and does the job.
