    Default wanted deluxe belmont razor

Wanted a deluxe belmont razor -- does anyone here have one or know where I might be able to find one?
I believe that they were made by gillette in the 40's
    Thanks in advance

Hmm.... Yeah. I've been wanting one of those for a while. I want a NEW, and that seems about the nicest variation...

Check ebay from time to time. I found a Belmont a couple of months ago.
Also, visit your local antique stores and flea markets. You'd be surprised at what turns up at these places.
My experience is that the antique places and flea markets don't really know the values, so they generally sell a lot cheaper than ebay sellers. Plus you always see the merchandise first hand vs. ebay stuff. Athough I've never been really stung with crappy razors from ebay, (always a first time, I guess) it can and does happen.

My experience has been that they don't know the value so they sell it for too much....

But definitely, the ability to see and handle is nice.

Well, for example, at various antique stores, I've purchased a near mint chrome De Luxe Norfolk for $2, two red tip Superspeeds for $5 each (excellent condition), several other SS's at $2-$4 each, and a mint late 40's gold Aristocrat in original box (leather) for $15. Plus other razors that don't come to mind at the moment. LOL, I probably shouldn't broadcast this too much.....they may be lurking in the shadows and up the prices! Of course, YMMV, and it sounds like it does. However, keep looking, and you might just luck out.

Similiar - maybe Merkur Slant Bar (strange I know). Bur for my face there's no other razor shaving so great as Belmont type... Even other NEWs, maybe sth like NEW Norfolk and Big-Boy could do it similiar because of the same head, But they have no grace/weight/balance of Belmont
