  1. Default American Crew

A friend of mine is a chemist for Colomer, manufacturer of the American Crew brand among many others. For Christmas they gave the wife and I a lot of Colomer products. I got the AC shaving cream and aftershave. The jury is still out on the shaving cream as I can't seem to get a good lather with it. However, the aftershave is very nice. It does a good job soothing the skin and has a very nice scent.

I just realized they have a shaving oil also. I might have to snag a bottle of that to give it a try. You can find what I'm talking about here.

You won't be able to lather their shaving cream. It's not meant to lather. Just smooth it on your face. I'm not much of a fan, as it does not deliver a very good shave for me. I use it mostly as a pre-shave.

However, I have been a fan of their aftershave balm for years. It's comprable to Nivea I'd say. You have to like the scent though, which I do. It goes nicely with their cologne.

I like there shampoo and styling products. I use the forming cream for my hair everyday. Seems to work well.

Thx for the tip on the cream.

I have some other stuff to try. Forming gel, body wash, and other stuff I can't remember. Not a bad gift.

Thanks for the tip on the shaving cream. I bought some of this the other day and have been trying in vain to get it to lather.

The "classic" EDT is quite nice too.

Well you won't get a lather out of the AC shaving cream no matter how hard you try. And I don't think it performs all that well as a brushless cream either, though I do like the herbal scent. I used mine as pre-shave in the shower to soften my beard, or with the hot-towel treatment.

I am, however, a big fan of the Aftershave moisturizer/balm. It's as good as most other balms I've tried (not as good as Nivea, but definately on par with the CO Bigelow balms and AV Ice Balm). The scent is decent, I use it in tandem with the AC Classic cologne. I've been using this stuff for years, and still go back to it once a week or so.

Edit.. funny that I posted almost the exact same thing 6 months ago.. lol..
