Discussion thread for Xpec Original Shaving Soap Review

Yes, an excellent review. And now I want to try this stuff!

It's not possible to buy it from their website as they ship inside the UK only. Who, if anyone, sells it in the US? I've sent an email to Colonial Drug -- will let you guys know what they say.

Gents I had a chance to use this croap and it certainly lives up to it's reputation. Using a dallop almond size sample paired with a Kent BLK12 the lather was superb. After soaking the BLK12 and a gentle two shakes this dallop started to froth immediately with a mix of water and soap bubbles. Within a short thirty seconds I had lather that was on par with any soap such as MDC or my other favorite GFT coconut cream. Using a Barbasol razor & Gillette plats I had a bbs shave. The cushion, protective lather via it's density and residual slickness once the main lather was washed off was outstanding.

The scent. Many have you heard me say that I like mild scented soaps. However this scent went through the roof! Immediately intoxicating and giving a gent that one was sitting inside a Ferrari with it's rich supple leather and enveloping one in a such decadence not thought possible before this soap. While many soaps have a one dimensional or maybe two scents the depth of this soap went well beyond anything I could aptly describe. It is bold, beautiful, powerful and makes no apologies for it. A few I ticked off immediately, leather, rose, thyme and black pepper. One would hesitate to pay $80 for a shaving cream but there have been many a colognes I've bought surpassing such price. So one can in reality call this an expensive cologne masquerading as a shaving cream :D.
I write this review with saddess as the Forester family is no longer making the scented version. I'm certainly glad I had the chance to buy this and will be cherished for as long as I can make it last.
