    Default Disappointed with Keig!

I got a sample from Vintage Blades, thinking that since this is Castle Forbes, it has to be good. Well it was great for abotu 15 minutes. Then it disappeared! What's up with this stuff? My Floris Limes lasts all day - at least I can still smell it by the end of the work day. I expected better from Keig.

fresh neroli/citric scents are like that, AdP, Castille, JF, you have to find the right one,

CF Keig seems to be notoriously short-lasting despite the fairly high price tag. I honestly don't have any experience with CF fragrances other than 1445 so I can't comment on others.

That being said, I'm not sure if Aevum is recommending those particular scents but I will do so. I think they're great choices, and citrus frags just don't last very long on me due to my oily skin.

AdP - Citrus and powdery rose. Just great stuff overall. Lasts all day on my person.

Penhaligon's Castile - One of my favorites from them. Beautiful. It does share some similarity with AdP but IMO the Castile edges it out. I don't get much citrus out of it though, it's more a rose frag for me.

Geo F Trumper GFT - Another citrus that lasts all day on my person. Lemon and woods here.

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet - I read the Keig was citrusy and spicy so this may be up your alley, as well. Lemon, pine and black pepper.

There are a lot I'm missing...I'll try to get back to the thread later.

add T&H freshman to that list, and replace AdP with AdP colonia intensa or absoluta, both of them have much better longevity then the original,

but i also think its an issue with skin type, im a bit overwright, and therefore have greasy skin, and citric essencial oils tend to react with greasy skin and cancel each other out, meaning that neroli, orange, grapefruit and lime based colonges are affected by this skin imbalance, if i want to enjoy the bottle of AdP i have, i need to lose weight, rebalance my skin,

This is a perfect example of why it's always a good idea to sample colognes or fragrances.

What works on someone else (or 90% of everyone) may not work on you. Or may not work well.

For a nice limes scent that lasts, I really like Parfums de Nicolai's Cologne Nature - fresh, clean, bright, a little bit floral. PdN is much easier to find than Castle Forbes (I've sampled several of CF's scents and wasn't really too impressed with them).

Another good one that's really limes/lime blossom is i Profumi di Firenze's Agrumi di Sicilia. You can find this at www.beautyhabit.com. I believe they have a sample program, too.

    Allen is spot on there.

    I would add:

    Czech and Speake Neroli
Dior Eau Sauvage (Lemon and Neroli)

And of course the granddaddy of all citruses,
    Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte.

    All citrus, all persistent.

I don't know about the others, but C&S's Neroli is awesome.
