    Question Gillette Swedes

I've seen several bulk offers for Israeli and Derby blades. Can anyone tell me if such deals exist for Swedish Gillettes. Thanks.

Wow! 60 views so far and no responses. I guess there probably aren't any deals for Swedish Gillette blades like there are for Derby and Israeli Personna.

Not aware of any deals for the Swedes. Auravita.com is about the cheapest internet source as I recall

Auravita has a good price, but will get you on the shipping. theenglishshavingcompany.com is better for a total price.

There is another source for Swedish Gillettes at Weston.com. Packs of 5 are 1.81Euros or $3.60 each with shipping of about $2.00.

They can only be bought in packs of 5- if there was a deal out there, letterK would be the one to know about it.

    Folks,

I have (4) -5 packs of the Gillette Platinum blades labeled as the
"Lisboa, Madrid, Milano" blades and (6) -5 packs of the Gillette Platinum -Platinum hardened edges- blades which are labeled as the "Oslo, Stockholm" blades.

If anyone is interested in a trade please let me know.

I am looking for some Castle Forbes cream but am open to any trades as I am not using these blades.

I would not recommend Auravita. Awhile back I made a purchase from Auravita and received a call from my bank that someone made a transfer to a pay pal accound for $200 +. This was an illegal transfer and was money stolen from my account. A couple days after that I received an email from Auravita saying that there was some problems with their security and apologizing for any issues that I may have had. I wrote back explaining that I had $200+ stolen from my account and that I was not pleased. I have yet to hear anything back and it has been 1.5 months. Luckily the bank reimbursed the money and was able to catch the illegal activity so fast. Needless to say I will not be ordering from Auravita ever again. I know this stuff happens with interent companies but I have never had an issue with anyone else.

Just for all you Canadian purchasers out there, here is how the breakdown goes if you order a single pack of blades:

    Basket Total $3.55
    Total Tax $.53
    Carriage $6.37
    Total $9.92
    Total to Pay $9.39
(Tax has been deducted from this export order)

So, $6.37 US for shipping, actually not bad. Still, that's around $2 per blade, a lot when you can get 100 Derby blades for around $24 US. You would have to order more than one 5-pack to make it worthwhile. If you ordered 10 5-packs, it would break down like this:

    Basket Total $35.49
    Total Tax $5.28
    Carriage $15.47
    Total $50.96
    Total to Pay $45.68
(Tax has been deducted from this export order)

That makes it closer to $1 per blade, a little more reasonable.

Still, The Gillette Swedes seem like a bit of a luxury item, not sure if they're worth it.

    Peace,

    Pierre

I worked out the math too. I really did like the shave I got, but not at those prices. Maybe I'll give Derby's another go.
