    HBS Jasmine - love it, L O V E, love it!
Harris Almond - I really dislike marzipan and this scent is nothing like marzipan.
Harris Marlborough - woodsy (sawdust woodsy rather than strolling through the forest woodsy, but nice all the same)
Ogallala BR Limes & Peppercorns original formula - fantastic scent
TGQ Cavendish Black - good stuff
Pre de Provence - fresh laundry kind of smell that took a while to get used to but now I quite like it.
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet - nice peppery note in there (which gets lost if I use it too frequently)

Sarcasm acknowledged, I've never understood this sentiment. I've lived in enough many places where deodorant is either not part of the culture or expensive enough to be considered a luxury by most of the population. Let me tell you that the only man I want to smell like is me and that is a me after a good shower.

With regards Tabac, from my one encounter with it, which was as brief as it was disappointing (scent wise), the "man" which springs to mind when I conjure up that odor from my olfactory memory bank (shudder) is this guy:

Not exactly dripping with machismo - apart from the bit about being the most powerful leader in Europe. But that's the point, isn't it. You need to have that degree of power and influence if you are going to smell that bad and still have 'em kiss your ring.

I don't hate Tabac, I just don't love the scent (but I love the lather).

    Best scents:
    Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
    C&E Nomad (an acquired taste)
    QED Fresh Limes
    D.R. Harris Almond

    SpeickCol Conk Bay Rum, Amber
Proraso Green, Green tea and Aloe
    Arko
Tryphon's Tuscan Pine, Clorofilla, Acqua do Colonia, Florida Water
Trumper's Rose, Lime (but the lime is just a touch too powdery)
and don't get me started on the creams!

That's right. So you think the two smell the same? Or are you saying Speik stinks?

Speick is a subtle scent to me and don't think its scent in even in the same ballpark (strength wise) as Tabac.

Harris Arlington (my personal favourite soap)
    MWF
    T&H Luxury
    Palmolive stick
    L'Occitane Cade

I like the performance of Tabac I just don't like the scent, which is a bit of a shame. Same with Arko.
    All the best,
    Jim.

Strange that you would know how they smell. Didn't know that they shared a particular scent.

Louis XIV was notoriously malodorous, he dreaded baths and bathed but a few times in his lifetime, only after his servants plied him with drink enough to intoxicate him to the point he would consent.
