Just wondering how many brushes you all have
1 brush (my true love)
2 brushes (gotta have a spare)
up to 7 brushes (weekly rotation)
7-20 brushes
20+ brushes
Just wondering how many brushes you all have

It's bad. Really bad. I yoinked a B&B Essential and now I'm kicking myself for not also picking up the Simpson PJ2 in Super that Lee put up at his "12 Days of Christmas sale." I'm lusting after Rooneys almost daily and thinking buying a Shavemac in finest.
Worst of all, I know what the previous paragraph I just wrote means! I got it BAD my friend. BAD.

Two months ago I had one brush. Now I have 11...

Of all the AD's, this one has been the least infectious for me. Every few months or so I get the itch but then I end up buying other shave gear instead... Oh well, I'm content with my Rooney and Burmashave boar for now.
Edit: Doh, I forgot I have a Merkur (Dovo) Silvertip that matches my Futur - but I hardly use it cause though it is a good cream brush and I mostly use soaps...

I've got 7 brushes, but only use 4-5. (I'm saving the others for PIF-dom soon.) I'll also probably swap out at least one of the others. Although I have more soaps and creams, SBAD probably consumes the most of my AD time; though, RAD is kicking in for the first time...

For the record, I have a mere 2 brushes, my original Vulfix 376 Super (18 years old now) and a new Rooney 2/1 Super. While I feel that these are more than adequate, I am concerned that any day now, I may go on a brush-buying bender.
I mean how can I get through another day without a Shavemac, or a HMW Plisson, or a Kent...

Wow. I thought I was overdoing it. Two months ago I had no brushes. Now I have four. Looks like I have a relatively mild case.
The only other two brushes that have lit my fire are either the Rooney 1/1 or 3/1, and one day I'll have a custom Shavemac with D01 hair. I hear good things. There's always the next B&B LE too...

3, but I only use my C&E BBB. I have one Bodyshop synthetic that I picked up for a buck when they had a get $10 off anything sale and an altesse pure badger that I haven't used.

160-170....that'll do it for the time being...just one more brush to arrive shortly: a Plisson with horn handle and HMW #18....
BTW: this was my latest acquisition...

I only go for synthetics, so I get let off easy on the SBAD. I am looking to get that Jack Black though...

It's all fun and games until someone looses an eye. Then it's just fun.
5 brushes. 1 boar, 1 pure, 1 finest, 2 silvertip. Four of them are in my rotation.
Dietmar
1 Mühle boar
1 Vulfix 660 Super Medium
1 No name pure badger
I'm currently using Vulfix, because now I'm in mood for SC, but for SS I use my good old pure badger.
Luka
Two in use. Need no more brushes. One Omega boar 10066, one Rooney 3/1 super badger.
Few weeks ago thrown in a garbage can VDH boar which I was using for eight years, every
day.
One EJ pure badger rests abandoned, and don't know what to do with it after eighteen months
of use hopelessly trying to soften its prickly tips.
For the record (to the present time, of course) I have three badgers (Mason Pearson, Edwin Jagger and a Gowings travel) a high quality but unbranded boar (I think it is an Omega) and a Windsor boar which is only good for brushing my moustache into shape.

Right now I have four. I have a Boar Hair (first brush from a great PIF) that is awesome for tough soaps. I have a C&E BBB great for creams or soaps, a well rounded brush. I have the B&B Essential (haven't used it yet, just got it) and a Shavemac 585 in Silvertip (also just received/haven't used yet). My original plan was to have a couple to rotate for specific purposes, soap vs. cream etc. To be honest I can see how people get hooked on SBAD though. My wife will keep me in check though; otherwise I'd have tons of brushes in different sizes, shapes, colors and finishes.
Thank goodness my SBAD is (so far) a less expensive version than some of the other survey-takers: I'm buying vintage brushes! I've picked up some beautiful pure badger Made-Rites, Fullers, Ever-Readys, Rubbersets - vintage brushes NOS - one made for Abercrombie & Fitch, one for CM (Caswell Massey?)....
...not to even bring up the "projects" I'm buying that I will someday restore with new knots....
and the BBE, of course.
And I use them all, without any formal rotation - a lonely little guy will catch my eye & that's the Brush of the Day!
