Default Ladies fascination with wetshaving products?

I'm a 26 y/o bachelor living in a house with two other bachelors the same age. Everytime we have members of the fairer sex over, the ALL have to ask whose "old shaving stuff" that is in the bathroom. I'm not sure why, but they all seem interested in this stuff. Thoughts?
Mac: Hey Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy s**t on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
Farva: You mean Shenanigan's?

Maybe they want to know who the real man in the house is?

Its really funny seeing the look on their faces when I have my full beard!

Its that, if a man can take great care of himself and is meticulous with his grooming, then likely he will also make a good husband and provider....
careful there...

Actually, I think most women are turned off by meticulous groomers. They want a man to smell good, but most women start getting scared of the metrosexuality so rampant in the male community now.

I believe it's the "real man" question. A lot of women now use Mach III razors, so when they see someone that uses what their grandfather might have used, the subconscious association of an older father figure comes into play and they equate certain practices with real manliness.

It's just like if I were sitting in a bar, and I'm smoking a non-filtered Camel and drinking straight Scotch on the rocks, a woman will associate manliness quicker with me than someone smoking a Marlboro Light 100 and a Smirnoff Ice. It's been proven!

Matter of fact, if we want to get real manly, we'd all start shaving once a week, as most women despise a BBS face on a man. They like a little stubble.

Of course, there are some women that seem to want a prissy, sissy man who uses Nair on his face, chest and legs and sips margarita's while watching Sex in the City. To each their own. I'll keep on being a real man!

I don't believe that is so. I base that on many comments made by gents here about their wives reactions to the shave.

You're wrong.

Research has shown, stubble accentuates the jawline, and it's VERY attractive to women.

Actually, several studies on multiple continents have been able to show statistically significant results that indicate that women prefer light stubble.

...which may in fact be the reason why wives/significant others react the way they do - whether they consciously think about it that way or not.

Scotch on the rocks is NOT manly, it is sissy (ducking! ) ... make is straight w/ a splash of water when appropriate.

But the real question is: if I have some stubble can I still have a margarita? I like those too.

My wife has shown no preference for smooth versus stubble, except that she would likes full beards, which I won't do. In fact, she doesn't seem to like the day 1 or 2 stubble, so I suppose she's not typical.

All-in-all she thinks the wet shaving thing is a silly phase I'm going through.

Of course, it's much easier to leave stubble on your face using a DE than it is with a Mach3, or some other modern razor. Just do a 1 or 2 pass shave and you'll still have stubble. Maybe that's the secret we've all been missing out on...

Maybe it's just surprise that someone in your age group actually takes the time to shave properly.

If I (at age 51) posted that women came to my house to look at my shaving gear, I'd simply say it's one more proof that I'm DELUSIONAL.

(Gotta run...Halle Berry is at the door...need to shuffle Jen Aniston out the back door so I don't get caught-- gotta keep this timely since I got a call from Kate Winslet, who's in town and wants to "feel my B&B Essential"...

Maybe not so much, "I can't beleive he takes the time to shave properly" so much as, "I can't beleive someone still uses that stuff!"

It also could be curiosity about something she hasn't seen often.
