    Default Finaly had some time...

...to take a couple of pics of my latest finds.
First up, a travel set that looks to me to be unused, although there is a bit of corrosion and some ware on the brush and soap tubes where they were strapped in.

It even had instructions and a price list in the box

Next up... a trip back to 1905. I don't know if the box and razor are matched, but the date code on the razor is still quite clear.

    Handle and 12 blades in 1905, $5.00.
I seem to recall that I read someplace that the average wage in 1905 was something around $200 per year.

The ladies at the antique mall I found this one at were very nice, and a little uninformed. When I showed interest they told me that this type of razor dates "all the way back to the 1940's."
I have such a great time looking at all the pics of some of your great razors, I hope my crummy digital camera and I could give you a little enjoyment.

    Thanks DL.
It's only in about the past 6 months that I've been smart enough to look for razors at antique shops, I wonder how many good finds I've walked right past over the years!

No kidding, I've thought the same thing. We have a ton of antique shops within a 100 mile radius of us. It really is so much fun to go and look for that treasure. I already have this coming weekends excursion planned out. I need to keep quiet or these Texas boys will be all over me!

Andy, check out some of my recent antique shop finds in the safety razor thread.

Excellent finds. The best part? If you want to upgrade, the "Badger Brush Replacement" is only $1.80!!

You know, I've been playing with the idea of experimenting with a synthetic as well.
Maybe I should look up that old boy David Grimes.
