    Default Potential Second Brush

Gentlemen, I need some sage advice. Currently my everyday brush is a Rooney Super 3/1 Ebony from Vintageblades. I love this thing, I'm a face latherer even with creams. It works great, has good back bone and dare I say is spot on for my preference of the amount of 'scratchiness' desired.

So what do I need to do? That's right, I need to get another brush!

I have purchased a knot from Golden Nib for an old handle, and quite frankly, doesn't do it for me. I need a brush with some more meat on its bones. If I could find a brush that is a tad softer than my Rooney, I think that would be what I'm looking for. I had my eye on an Edwin Jagger Super, but I'm open.

So what do you lads think? Where should I look for brush number two?

For a soft, luxerious brush, I would look into a Shavemac. Look for one with a smaller knot to match more closely the size of the Rooney. Shavemacs are very good and the silvertip one that I have is very soft on the face.

Shavemac is a good choice. My two main brushes are the 3/1 and a Shavemac in finest with 23mm knot. I face lather, and the shavemac is very precise for controlling where the lather goes. Muehle pinsel is another brand I might look at, also a lightbulb shape, but I have never used one so I am not sure how the density compares. The Shavemac is less dense than my Rooney, but not much and still has great backbone, much more than the Edwin Jagger I have(B&B 2006). Saville Row at QEDUSA is another looker, same as Shavemac?
