    Default Lightly-scented soap...

    Hey gents,

I'm looking for some lightly scented soap that's a great performer, preferably triple milled and/or tallow-based. I've used up my puck of T&H Luxury and I'm looking for something that will fill in that spot of the rotation. MWF is the biggest contender right now, but I thought I'd ask if there were any other recommendations out there. Something with a clean, soapy smell. Thanks!

MWF or Valobra shave stick are fairly close to being non scented.

I love my Harris Arlington, which starts out as a bright citrus/fern, and dries down to a very light smelling fern after a few weeks. If you don't like the sound of that, I'd go with Harris Almond (which was very much just clean and soapy).

But you could just get another T+H, or a puck of the vintageblades milled soap (which smells the same), or a valobra soap stick.

    Best of luck.

Hmmm, I'm intrigued by the Harris Almond...Does anyone know the story on new vs. old formulation Harris soaps? Does a mahogany bowl mean it's definitely older?

Joris has a very nice clean, soapy smell and it is a wonderful performer.

    +1 on the Arlington.
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

Try a cake of Provence Sante, available at http://www.shavingessentials.net/shaving_soaps.html

Get the Verlain/Linden scented soap @$10. This is a wonderful shave soap, very luxurious.

Another vote for MWF or Arlington, two excellent soaps!

Harris soaps are great performers, as long as they have tallow as one of the ingredients. It is no longer first on the list, but they still contain tallow (at least all the ones I have do).

    Best of luck.

I find L'Occitane Cade fairly lightly scented - just smells slightly of Juniper. The lather is amazing - I used Tabac for the first time this morning, and while it was slightly more lubricating than the Cade, my skin feels more moisturized and just plain nicer with the Cade.

Gold Dachs. Good performer, light lavender scent, triple milled hard cake, but no tallow.

I was going through my cabinet trying to decide what to use today, and if it is a clean, soapy smell you are looking for I would suggest D.R. Harris Lavender.
