Thread: Crystal Blades

  1. Default Crystal Blades

I think I might have found the right blade for me; today I shaved with an Israeli Crystal blade, and there was no tugging, just the nice raspy sound of hairs being cut. Little to no irritation, and only one small weeper which closed up right away with cold water. The only other blades I've tried have been Merkur and Derby. I still have some Dorco and Red blade Personnas to try from my sampler, but I am really happy with the shave I got from this Crystal.

Sorry for clogging up the forum, but I needed to share - I seem to figure something out almost every day, and it's exciting!

I think you'll like the red personna's too.

+1. I, too, enjoy the Crystals and took a chance on the red IP's. IMO, the red IP's are almost as nice as the crystals, but at a cheaper price.

I've tried all blades WCS offers and, a year later, the Crystal / Israeli Platinum (not Personna) remains my go-to. And if I won the lottery, they'd probably remain my go to.

Then again, I'd rather drink good beer than cognac.

And a hearty welcome to B&B!!

I seem to get varying results with Crystals, or rather most blades.
On some shaves they'll give me BBS, no irritation, no weepers.
On others they'll give me an okay shave, with irritation, weepers and bumps...
    Very strange..
I don't change anything amongst those shaves.
The only ones that don't do it are the Swedes, and they're so expensive..

The reds are my favorite of all the blades I've tried so far.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I really like the Crystals and the reds.

I was disappointed with the Crystals. My faves are, in order of rank:
    Feather New Hi Stainless Platinum
    Gillette Blue (Swedes)
    Wilkinson Sword Classic Platinum
Forecast for tomorrow; a few sprinkles of genius with a chance of doom! :Stewie
