Soap Flakes

I recently got Gold Dachs "soap flakes", which is the same formula as the regular shaving soap, but, supposedly, better because the air between the flakes makes for richer lather. Does anyone have any experience with this?

At the very least, the flakes are good for travel. I put a pinch of them in a small travel dish I have and it served me for a two-day trip last weekend.

Years ago, Williams and others offered 'shaving soap powder' that was powdered shave soap. You were to use a shaker to add the soap powder to the brush, then build the lather directly on the face. I've never seen it, and am aware of this only through old collectible advertisements from the '20s-'30s offered on eBay.

Personally, it sounds interesting. I don't know how practical this form is, other than to note that this product form died out, and sticks and pucks survived. It'd be nice if you'd add a review of the product and format to the reviews section.
