    Angry issue

So here is a question for some of our DSLR owners to think about. I have a Canon Digital Rebel, bought it used and have had it about a year. Several weeks ago I put the battery in the charger and walked away from it. Came back several hours later, took the battery out of the charger and put it in the camera and nothing happend. I put the other battery in the charger and watched the charger light to see if it was charged or not. It blinked in the patern that suggests to me that it needed charged and so I walked away. Put that battery in the camera and got nothing. So, two batteries no action. I have always found that the batteries seemed to not hold much of a charge and always felt I needed to buy a new one. I put both of the batteries on the charger another time and both blinked as if they needed a charge. I kept an eye on the battery charger and it never stopped blinking like it needed a charge until it stopped blinking as if it were charged, and still no reaction from the camera. One battery is older then the other. So, do you think it is the battery charger or that both batteries went completely bust at the same time or that the camera is toast?

It may be the charger or the batteries (unlikely). To confirm it's not the camera, take it to your local camera shop and ask them if they have a battery you can try. By the way, make sure the batter door and card door are firmly closed. If not, the camera will not power up...

Then you can check out their chargers - I have a non Canon one from my local camera shop which has a display etc and tells you how the capacity % and gives you a timer to full capacity. It cost less than a new Canon replacement and it works fine. A bonus is that it also charges the batteries on the Point & Shoot too.

I have the same camera. I had to buy another charger as the first one wouldn't charge the batteries.
    Just a thought.

Honestly, this was my thought about the situation, I was just wondering how common it was I guess...

I don't have the same Canon camera, but I am on my third Canon charger for it - I strongly suspect the electronics in the charger are made of what my granddad referred to as poopite (actually he used another word but you get the drift)

    Thumbs up Problem solved

I took my battery into the local camera shop for a charge. When we got it home the camera powered right up, looks like I need a new charger...

Thanks for your replies and ideas!
