    Default Gillette Super Speed History?

I'd love to try out an old Gillette Super Speed razor maybe from the 1940's but am not sure how to be sure its actually from that time. Does anyone have a good website that explains the history and maybe some markings on the razor that can help determine the manufacture date?

What I'm consistently shaving with - Merkur 38C
Brush I'm using - Simpson Wee Scot
    Blades - Merkur

    Thumbs up

The '40s Super Speed is actually distinguished by the fact that it does not have a date code, and does not have the flared twist handle. There's a sticky in the razor section here for identifying Gillettes, that points out the differences between '40s and later SS's.

I just got one on ebay and had my first shave with it yesterday -- smooooooth
