    Default Favorite Holiday Special

    Hey all.

Being two days before Christmas, I thought it would be fun to see what everyone's favorite TV specials are. I'm partial to Charlie Brown and Rudolph of course, but I really enjoy Robbie the Reindeer for the newer shows. What do you all like?

Every year I cannot escape shedding a few tears at the end of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE.

I'd also like to watch the version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL with George C. Scott, but I haven't seen it on tv yet.

Watching at least 6 complete showings within the non-stop, 24 hour "A Christmas Story" marathon has become a new tradition in our family.

I really enjoy the World Junior Championship tournament and the fairly new Winter Classic. Winter means hockey!

The Grinch, definitely. I'd also like The Homecoming again.

    Default Morcambe & Wise

For us Brits, it was always Morcambe and Wise. Their show just about made Christmas. I don't know if they were popular in the US, or elsewhere. Sadly, they are no longer with us. Their unforgetable signature song.

Well, I've got a Christmas Special fever ... and the only cure is ... Boris Karloff!
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

The Dr Who Christmas Special and the new Wallace & Gromit this year I reckon. Not much else worth turning the telly on for.

Sentimentally, "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Lot's of childhood memory rushes with that one.

Modern me loves "The Strike" Seinfeld episode, which introduced us to a new holiday for the rest of us.

I like watching the Polar Express with my family especially the kids. I personally like to watch Bing Crosby in White Christmas!

I make my wife watch Its a Wonderful Life and she makes me watch White Christmas. For each of us those were the movies that we remember the most growing up.

There are a lot of good ones...

The one that sticks in my mind is "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol." I had not seen this one in a VERY long time, and when I finally did, a lot of memories came back. I finally got it on DVD, and it gets played every year around this time.
