I am thinking about buying a Fat Boy on Ebay. Want to get an idea what a good price and what was the best year for the fat boy. I see some in a case used but in EXCELLENT CONDITION for 85.00 and 100.00, is that to much.

Personally i consider the first year (1958) to be the best. FB are no longer that hard to find and hence $100 is a lot to pay for one unless it is NOS.

The early models had a recessed nut in the handle, made it easy to take them apart.
The later one have a crimped on fitting like the slims, you can take them apart but it's a bit more involved.
Personally I would pay more then $30.

IMHO
1959 was the best
Specifically the last quarter "E4"
That's when I was born

I have an E4 fatboy in it's original case, although it's been my regular shaver for most of the last 18 years. I could probably clean it up real nice and pass it along now. Since acquiring my no date code 40's SS, I rarely use the fatboy. Since they seem to always be wanted by folks, I just may have to do that.
I picked up my F2 Fatboy for $5
