    Default King of Shaves?

I recently got a sample of the following products from King of Shaves:

After applying the pre-shave oil, I put the gel into a bowl and mixed it with water. It was pretty nice- felt great on my skin. I did my first pass with the Long Handle Classic Merkur and rinsed for my second pass. I hesitated to use the brush again, and wanted to try it with my hands. It went on BETTER than with the brush and shaved EXTREMELY well with NO RAZOR DRAG.

This is by the BEST product I’ve used since wetshaving, but I’m wondering why no brush? I have problem-prone skin, and right now if this works best for me (I’m going to try it for 2 weeks to make sure- no brush) is it a bad thing?
I still love the LHC, and could never go back to my Sensor or Mach3.

I even finished up with a new after-shave:

I’m a big fan of the white lotion, and wanted to try this one, as I have seen it in my dad's medicine cabinet for years. It, too, felt very nice on the skin.

These two new products will only prove themselves after a few days. If things improve with my skin (less acne, razor irritation) then I’m sold. I will also add that out of the 3 blades I’ve tried (Swedish Gillette, Derby, and Israeli) that the Gillette is the best for my face. I REALLY like it.

    Any thoughts, comments? Thanks-

I'm curious as to how much water you mixed the shave gel with as it's really just supposed to be smeared on with your hand straight from the tube. Maybe adding the water makes it a much better product.

Actually I was commenting that it worked better without water or a brush, i.e. the way it recommends!

I tried it first with a good amount of water (soaked the brush and didn't shake). And while it made a nice lather fairly easily, it simply didn't feel as smooth as the gel by itself.

Anywho- I’m going to keep trying this routine and see what happens. Thanks guys.

I used that KOS shaving gel this morning because I was late for work. The stuff is EXCELLENT if you need to go brushless.

    Default Me too

I have tried it both with my Sensor and with my Merkur Vision-- applied directly to the face with fingers. Smell is nice, glide to me is just OK. The best cream I have found so far is Body Shop Mans Shaving Cream. No fragrance unfortunately. Second best is Proraso. Third for me is Nancy Boy. Have not tried the English creams as of yet, that's next. Good luck.

I like using KOS Magna gel to do touchup with. It's good stuff.

Default Not a regular shaving gel

It is meant to be put on your wet face. No added water and no brush. It does not foam. I used to use the stuff years ago and it works really nice, compared to the Gillette and other mass market stuff. I'm not using it these days as I'm trying to use more traditional stuff and avoid modern chemicals. If I ran out of stuff labelled with a 'T' and had to buy something from the supermarket/chemist then I'd pick this up over anything else.

I don"t like KOS ; I much prefer canned gels

If u must use a drugstore brushless cream, try Edge Active care deep hydrating (Tube)
