    Default best clean,fresh scent

Currently I am using lacoste booster that is coming close to an end and my bottle of T by tommy hilfiger is a bit too sickly sweet for me now.

Basically I am after a nice clean perhaps warm woody pine crisp scent.

Any recommendations would be great, I will try sample what you guys can put forward, thanks in advance.

I have heard vetyver mentioned here a few times, is this on the right track?

Try Creed Epicea. Clean pine, not sweet, with a hints of herbal citrus.

The scent I highly recommend is Eau De Rochas Pour Homme.

The first scent that came to mind after reading your description is Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet...It's a classic. Give it a sample, if you haven't already. It sounds right up your alley. It's piney/woodsy/peppary with a touch of citrus. Very crisp.

If you can find some of the fabled B&B fragrance, give it a shot as well. I find it to be very piney, warm, and crisp.

As far as Vetiver is concerned, I only have experience with a couple...Floris makes a gorgeous Vetiver, but it's a little heavy and not what I would consider to be "crisp." You should give it a taste anyway, though...it's exquisite. I hear that Guerlain's Vetiver is a bit lighter. Perhaps that's worth a try as well.

    J. Peterman 1903: warm, woody, pine/birch/fir notes, fresh and clean. If you don't like it, you don't really want a warm woody crisp pine scent after all

I second the Blenheim Bouquet recommendation. Also, Opus 1870 might be to your liking.

Rive Gauche, for a recently shaved man.
Mugler Cologne for fresh soap and just out of the shower.
Ck Be for a clean musk.
2 Man: awesome incense and woods.
Kouros Fraicheur or Summer. Yes, I consider this fragrance to be clean. Still, you better sample before you buy
Leau de CArtier. Pepper and some aquatic notes.

Agreed on the Blenheim Bouquet recommendation. I wouldn't consider Vetiver 'clean' and 'fresh', myself. More like 'grassy' and 'earthy'.

Speick EDT; Caswell Massey #6; Gendarme; Dolce & Gabbanna pour Homme are my favorite "clean" scents.

Very clean, citrus scent. Very subtle as well. Not to mention inexpensive. Go for it!

    Burberry Weekend.

Doesn't get much love but I like it; citrus open with wood heart. Lasts a long time on me, lots of reviewers give it 3 hrs.

    Some blackphoenixalchemylab.com ideas:

    Undertow
The Dark Side of Water: clean and purifying, yet menacing -- lotus and juniper with a hint of mint.
(this will be more aquatic and wet than foresty)

    Wensleydale (Good Omens)
"My father says there's no such thing as witches," said Wensleydale, who had fair, wavy hair, and peered seriously out at life through thick black rimmed spectacles. It was widely believed that he had once been christened Jeremy, but no one ever used the name, not even his parents, who called him Youngster. They did this in the subconscious hope that he might take the hint; Wensleydale gave the impression of having been born with a mental age of forty seven.

An immaculately clean scent: well-scrubbed soapy skin and fresh cotton.

(very very clean, but not piney)

LINES WRITTEN AMONG THE EUGANEAN HILLS (Christmas Limited Ed.)
Skin musk, white sandalwood, balsam fir, frozen black berries, cedar, winter rose, and white amber.

    SNOW WHITE 2008 (Christmas LE)
A chilly, bright perfume: flurries of virgin snow, crisp winter wind and the faintest breath of night-blooming flowers.

or SNOW BUNNY 2008 (Christmas LE)
Not so spooky, right? Here's to finally being able to hit the slopes again! Soft white powder snow with a touch of youthful girlie perfume.
(I know this sounds girly, but the reviews: http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=19365 say its piney)

    THANATOPSIS
A meditation upon death. Inspired by William Cullen Bryant's poem. A deep, solemn earthen scent containing pine, juniper and musk.
    (more earthy)

    BLACK FOREST
This is the captured scent of a cold, moonless night, lost deep within the darkest wood. Haunting and desolate, this scent evokes images of fairy tale tragedy and half-remembered nightmares. Thick, viscous pine with ambergris, black musk, juniper and cypress.

    JABBERWOCKY (Alice in Wonderland)
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Come whiffing through the tulgey wood,
    And burbled as it came!
An earthy yet buoyant scent: pine, eucalyptus and orange.
    (lighter, a bit citrus, refreshing)

:) They come in imp samples as well: http://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/sample.html

If you want a pine scent try Pino Silvestre.

Went to Penhaligons shop and tried a few scents

Opus - Reminded me of a richer Paul Smith extreme scent
English Fern - Reminded me of imperial leather hand soap
Blenheim Boquet - Crisp and almost 'sparkling'
Endymion - My favourite of the 4 I tested

The trouble I found with them all is they all seemed too feminine if you understand me, just a bit too sickly sweet.

Thanks for all your advice I will add to this this thread when I smell some more suggestions!

Girl&etc - will check out those links

Great scent, but lasts about 10 minutes.
