Witch Hazel

Ok, So I bought some witch hazel and I know you apply it just before the aftershave. But my question is if you dry your face before witch hazel or leave it wet?

I gently pat my face dry with a towel, then apply the witch hazel. I let the witch hazel dry before applying any aftershave balm. This usually only takes as along as it takes to clean up (rinse brush, rinse razor, hang towel, etc.)
