Hi People!
I am a Horse Racing Announcer and good binoculars are essential in my trade as I use them and not the TV to call the races.
Back in the day I had a set of Carl Zeiss Jena East German Dekarem 10x50's that were the finest binoculars I have ever used. Although heavy, they were great for racecalling. Sadly, I had to sell them when I came to live in the USA.
However, I just won an "as new" pair on Ebay.
Having used West German Zeiss and Swift Audubons, (just as good, but need a little more magnification), I am very happy with these.
Anyone else have experiences with East German Zeiss binoculars?
Craig
