Hi all, just thought i'd make a mention of shaving grains.....as a newbie to this scene, i'm trying to learn the correct technique for that smooth shave. I don't doubt that i'm coevering old ground here...but it seems to me that knowing the grain of your beard is a huge contributing factor to the smooth shave and resulting smooth face. If you know which direction your beard grows, your part of the way there. Mine, for instance, grows N-S on the flats of my face. But, on my neck, it grows W-E across the whole neck, not just one side of the adam's apple. Now I know this, i can set about making my WTG passess first, before thying XTG and then ATG. Just thought i'd share this with you incase some were unsure. I'm using a Parker 60r razor, with Derby blades and Proraso shaving soap.
Happy shaving all!!
