    Default Dovo Shavette

Are the Dovo Shavette's any good and would they be a good idea for a person just starting out in straight shaving. (The honing and sharpening are probably the only thing holding me back from trying this out)

That's how I started straight shaving. I bought the black insert and long Dovo blades. It's an inexpensive way to find out if you like str8 shaving.
If you do, just remember, there's a learning curve, go slowly, start on your cheeks first, then down to the neck and finally the chin. Use no pressure on the blade or you'll get cut.
Do only WTG and XTG to avoid irritation and razor burn.
    Good luck

    Default It's good

I really like the shavette. Go with the black blade holder and the long blades initially so it's as much like a straight as possible. There are slight differences between shavettes and straights but they're still a good way to learn.
I may be wrong - it's never happened before but it's possible.
