Travel shaves stink.:9898: My Chubby 2 really spoiled me. I can't stand my Tweezerman anymore. I need to find a new travel brush when I get back. Kept the shave light as I have some razor burn from last night. I'll probably skip shaving tomorrow morning and perhaps Wednesday as well to let my face rest. Results are still better than an electric. :001_rolle I haven't messed up my face like this in a while.

Mon (Headshave):

Razor & Blade: Gillette GII (US Trac II)
Brush: C&E Pure Badger
Soap: Trumper's Rose
A/S: D R Harris Pink / Trumper's Coral Skinfood
EDT: Antaeus

I usually shave my head with a Mach3 but as I have a lot of GII and Contour Plus blades lying about I thought I'd try with one of these earlier cartridge razors.

It gave me a comfortable shave. The only minor issue is that you have to rinse the blade much more often due to the blades clogging more easily as they're closer together than Mach3 / Fusion and 'sealed' at the back.

Hardware: Gillette Old Style (?) razor, Derby blade, B&B Essential, Weller Bowl,

Software: Wesley & Scott Preshave oil (sample), Pre de Provence soap:w00t:, witch hazel, Wesley & Scott Lightly Mentholated ASB (sample),

Procedure: Keep stubble soft with preshave, three passes + blade buffing, rinse and tone, prepare to meet the almost cold weather here in Houston with the ASB.

I used the Pre de Provence soap yesterday and was so happy with the results, I used it again to day, as well preshave oil and ASB. Jury is still out on the preshave oil, but the balm is a keeper. Tip of the topper to the guys at Shaving Essentials. They know a sucker when they see one. :blushing:

Tweezerman brush
Seaforth shave soap
Trumper's Limes A/S
Rochas' Monsieur EdT

Excellent two-pass shave. Nearly BBS.

I bought a mug of Seaforth this weekend that had a used puck in it. I was worried about the scent - smelled strongly of English Leather cologne.

Shavewise: Since it is an old puck, I don't know. The lather seemed pretty thin and unimpressive, yet it delivered a close, comfortable shave and the scent was fine - really light and pleasant.

The Seaforth mug doesn't help any: a noticeably smaller opening compared to the Old Spice mugs, and that makes it hard to even soap up the brush for face lathering.

I may use the Seaforth the rest of the week to see how it shapes up. Maybe a smaller brush or a different mug for the soap would help.
