Default What's your favorite iced tea recipe?

Lets hear 'em! Tea bags? Loose? Cold or hot brew? What's your technique for loose tea?

So far my favorite iced tea creation:

5 bags of Bigelow Constant Comment
5 bags of Lipton Orange and Spice
    1/2 cup pure cane sugar
    2 quarts filtered room-temperature water

Mix water and sugar. Add tea bags. Cold brew for 1.5 - 2 hours, longer if water is cold. Remove tea bags. Serve over ice.

Cheap, simple, delicious. The cold brewing makes a much smoother brew without bitterness and it seems to really bring out the orange flavor.

I haven't been able to get a decent brew with loose tea. Loose tea seems like it gets bitter a lot faster.

I'm also going to try using agave nectar in place of sugar.

3 bags Lipton family size tea, 3-4 individual Lipton green tea (sometimes mint green tea during summer), microwave with 4 cups water 5 minutes, 2/3 splenda blend, top off gallon with cold water <sip> <sip> <gulp> *ahhhhh*
    very good
sometimes I'll use different flavors (the drink I just had was made with blackberry in place of green tea)
    excellent
After Monday and Tuesday, even the rest of the week goes W T F

Well, I love high quality tea, and I drink everything from Assam to Tie Kuan Yin and everything in between, but I'm from the South, so there's really only one recipe for iced tea (by the way, iced tea means sweet tea):

    Luzianne tea bags
    boiling water
    lots of sugar

anything else, and you're doing it wrong.

I prefer my iced tea to be Long Island style.

Normally I like sweet tea, but throwing a few mint tea bags in instead makes for the Proraso of ice teas.

Lose the sugar you are just about right.

    Three Luzianne family size bags
    1L of boiling water
    Steep for 3-5 minutes
    Remove bags
    Add 1L of cold water

I tell you what, that is some tea.

    Default Ice Pick

5 oz of very sweat iced tea
2 oz of your favorite vodka
1 oz of freshly squeezed lime

Shake well and serve on ice in a highball glass with a lime wedge and mint leaf garnish.

Unfortunately this is not something I will be having today since today's high will be about 15 degrees colder than our historical average. So much for global warming.

My recipe is much simpler than yours. Double-strength brewed tea (Luzianne, Tetley, or Lipton). Ice.

Serve with sugar and lemon slices.

    That's all.
