Default does anyone else's hot tea turn into iced tea before they finish it?

Any suggestions on fun toys that keep your mug hot? I always end up drinking iced tea about halfway through my drink

I had a mug-warmer in college, but it died. of course, at that point I didn't really use it much to know if it made a difference or not.
probably the easiest thing would be smaller portions so you finish the cup faster
    or an insulated cup/mug
After Monday and Tuesday, even the rest of the week goes W T F

Smaller portions can also lead to faster cooling though, you must find balance.

Quit putting ice cubes in it.
    Relax...Take it easy...Enjoy the lather.

Use a good porcelain mug, preheated before you pour the tea. This should hold the heat until the end. For longer sessions, consider getting a teapot stand which holds a small tealight candle -the pot will stay warm for at least an hour.

For those more high tech, there are also USB powered mug warmers available.

That is one of the more über-geeky things I've ever seen.

Cheap steel insulated mug are avaiable at most outdoor stores, not one of the huge travel mugs either but just a simple mug that has a double wall.
places for outdoor stuff(Mountain equipment Co-op and I suppose REI for the US) carry them. Designed to keep your tea hot below freezing temps.
I often find my tea still warm in the morning:)

FYI, I've got a USB cup warmer, and it dosn't particularly work. At least not through a porcelain or thick glass mug bottom. If you've got a non inslulated metal mug or a thin walled glass mug it might work.

I'd use it as a hub, but it's only usb 1.0 so it sits in my desk drawer. My girlfriend meant well when she got it for me...

I heat my teapot and cup in the sink, empty the hot water, then pour my boiling water from my kettle.

    Hi Gatto

I second the insulated cup recommendation. They work very very well.

And those USB cup warmers are a waste of $$. The USB port doesn't provide enough power to heat anything, and you don't really want to put that kind of load on your PC anyway. Making heat from electricity is not very efficient

Someone in my office has something like that USB cup warmer only it plugs right into an outlet, He said it even heats up cold tea! I might have to give this a try. I will definitely be picking up an insulated mug for when I'm not sitting at a desk for keeping my tea hot! Thanks for the ideas everybody

Almost always - I put ice in it to make it happen.

Only if I take too long to finish it.

How long do you take to finish a cup?

I tend to take a while, I use a 12 oz mug and that usually lasts me about an hour.

How concerned are you about durability?

    These look cool:

You got me thinking about drinking some tea now :P
Mine gets cold though too. These glasses look like they might solve that problem though.
