The Rhino shaving brush will lend a distinctive ambience to the most upmarket of bathrooms.

    Um, I think not.

That Churchill Silvertip brush looks suspiciously like a Simpson Duke to me! But they do say that they 'are proud to be the manufacturers of this brush'......?

It's a South African shop. They have pics of their store in Cape Town if you look. Interesting.

WOW, now those shaving brushes are truly unique. I don't think I have seen similar designs ever. Now if there is a member who might have gone to their shop I am sure we all would love to hear their feedback :).

    Default The Company Logo?!!!!

Look at the 'About Us' section of the site! Isn't that logo the Rooney logo? See thirdeye's very interesting post in the Brush forum.

This place(and the owner) has been around for a while and doesn't have a great reputation.

Interesting site, a lot of the pictures look photoshopped (look at the victorian ivory Mach3).
Nonetheless I can see how this place is sort of a gentleman's shop in another part of the world where licenses and trademarks are not enforced, the owner fully sells the image of it manufacturing its own stuff. Makes me think of some of those catalogs you see here in the states where they have 'trekked to the ends of the world' to find the stuff they now have 'manufactured' for them to bring to you.
Take for instance the Churchill Silvertip, Em's place has a scan of the Simpson brushes brochure, towards the end they offer to place (or used to now???) put your logo in any of their brushes and even to make your own design brush if bought in bulk.

Those animal brush handles look like they are made of aluminum foil.
    YMMV? I don't think so.

I was seduced by 'the Luxury Shaving at Mr Cobbs' report, until I got to the point where a Mach 3 was mentioned! For a while, I hoped that this might be one place where they still used a genuine straight. I'd still like to visit the store in person, if I found myself in the area.

Anyone ever tried the Alfred Roberts "City Gent" line? I can't find reference to it many other places online, and this is the only shop I see stocking it.

"Rest the bristles of the shaving brush lightly in the soap for a few seconds."

    Yeah, right, buddy.

"See how much lather there is?"

In the last photo, the amount of lather he has in his hand is about enough for 1/3 of a pass.

I like the new word "soupcon" for my shaving vocabulary. It means a little bit or trace.

Quite obviously, that's the amount of lather he'd use at a go. As much as it pains me to invoke the cursed expression, YMMV and all that . . .
