What's new

borax vs....

baking soda.
I've read that borax is the way to go to get rid of the initial "wet badger" smell of a new brush. my thought is, wouldnt a mild baking soda solution also work? I dont usually keep borax on hand and i dont want to buy a box for a one time use kinda thing.

what about a mild unscented dish soap solution?

and further down the road... what about upkeep?

You can use shampoo on your badger brush to help get rid of the initial funk. Honestly, the only cure for funky badger is time and use.

As far as upkeep, Em's place has a real nice video on cleaning brushes as routine maintenance.
