    Default Just Tried Proraso

I finally managed to get to a Target store. I purchased some Proraso shave cream, shave soap, and preshave.

I tried the preshave and the cream first as I am more familiar with creams. It was...interesting. I managed to get a good lather even though I was just using my old boar brush.

I found the scent to be interesting. The cream provided good lubrication and after the shave it left my face feeling quite cool and refreshed.

I have to say I like it a lot and looking forward to trying the soap tomorrow. I will have to pick up their aftershave and try it too.

I have one question and the preshave though. The instructions don't actually say whether one is supposed to rinse it off prior to applying the shave cream/soap. I did but was unsure about this point. So, does one rinse it off or apply the cream/soap over top of it?

I just lather right over the pre/post.

It works really well in the post mode also.

BE careful... that Proraso is addictive!

It is my understanding that some just leave the preshave on and lather on top and some use it in the shower and rinse it off before shaving.

i myself love the Prorasso soap for a number of reasons

i love the smell, also, it is very lubricating, in my opinion, and the eucalyptus oil feels nice on your face afterwards, a bit cooling

i use a different pre-shave (Taylor of Old Bond Street gel -- the directions are to apply gel, wait 1-2 minutes, then lather right on top).

I'm not an enormous fan of the stuff, but its cheap and available enough to rationalize having some around just for a change of pace now and then. The preshave though, I've had really good results with, and I rather like the aftershave too. I just leave the preshave on under the lather too, and sometimes dab a little on to soften things up before bed if I have any red bumps coming up at night.

I apply the pre-shave before each pass and just lather on top of it. I never miss a day of it

Thank you. Yes, I can see how one could come to be addicted to it. Quite refreshing.

Thank you. It seems the general consensus is to lather on top of it. I'll try that tomorrow.

Thank you. I hadn't even considered using it for each pass.

I've been putting the Pre-Shave on in the shower and letting it sit for about 5 minutes. Very refreshing scent and really wakes me up. I'll rinse it off at the last minute before getting out. I'll shave within 5 minutes of that.

    Really like it.

Be careful with the green cap to the tube. It's semi-famous for breaking if you put it on too tight.

BTW you will like the Proraso After Shave Balm. It is very good. Great way to finish off a shave.

    Keep on truckin' Mason.

I'll keep the cap thing in mind, thank you.

I'm looking forward to trying the after shave.

Proraso's great stuff, IMO it's the best value in shaving products today. The brush is really good, the cream's awesome. I'm a big fan of the aftershave and the pre/post is quality stuff as well. It's also so nice for newbie shavers other than a razor and blades they can go to Target and get a full kit to get started with and have products that they will continue to use even as they grow in their shaving knowledge.

Yes, I can see why most people speak highly of Proraso. Of course it just makes me want to try others even more.

i have to say that while i love the Prorasso soap, i didn't like the Omega brush at all.

i thought the boar bristles were too stiff and they didn't hold much water

after switching to badger, i could tell a huge difference

I just received some Proraso stuff through the post that I ordered online. Shame this stuff isn't readily available in stores in the UK, as it seems to be in the States (at least not to my knowledge).
