Dexter Beef Rump Steak (From a farm about 10 miles away)
Home made chips (Using local Nadine potatoes)

I agree with your sentiments. Here in Minnesota and Wisconsin where I grew up and now reside, we have some great local, seasonal foods. Some favorites of mine include sweet corn, apples, and of course, cheese. :thumbsup:
 
Local foods are great, and I find them much tastier. I'm not sure if it's the closeness, or that smaller local producers take greater time and care. Maybe a combination.

When I get my own house I already plan on raising some of my own meat (rabbits, maybe some goats). Doesn't get much more local then the back yard.

I have to agree, but seeing as my two lads are often to be found in the back yard.......


SWMBO would object to a cannibal diet :biggrin:
 
Local foods in NY is a bit of a misnomer since you can find food from just about anywhere in the world here. You can literally pick a country and find a restaurant representing it here. Some of it is expensive but it's all good. :biggrin:
