    Default Why a slant bar...

So I was looking ahead and thinking what should be my next razor. Right now I have a adjustable slim and it works really good for me. But my necks with its hair growing in all weird directions has always been a PITA. Most of the hair goes from adam apple to Ears. Would a slant bar help in getting a closer shave on the neck? Maybe not BBS but maybe help in doing less passes?

Frankly, the only way you will ever know the answer to your question is to try one. The slant razor is capable of doing some really close shaving with it's something of a slicing action.

As you probably have already gleaned from these forums, some people swear by these razors and claim they can't get as good a shave from anything else. Other people swear at them and claim they can't shave with one of these razors without blood.

Personally, I'm much more closely aligned with the first group. I tend to view it as a rather aggressive razor, on a par with a red tip Super-Speed. I don't have a problem with it cutting me at all, but I do use it with respect. You can't get sloppy while using it or it could bite you.

The main thing that you don't want is to do anything akin to the "Gillette Slide" with it because that is compounded with the angle that is built into the razor and it will likely be too much of a slicing effect and it will slice more than just the whiskers.

I recommend you give it a try. It could be the answer to your problem beard.

    Regards,
    Tom

Yes. The descriptions in this forum are incredible. But for razors that you are really curious about the only thing to do is try them.

I got a slant about a month ago. I find it the closest thing I've ever experienced to a SE. I can get BBS shaves with most razors, depending on how much time and how many passes I want to make. The slant is more aggressive than I want to use on a daily basis. But I'm really glad I have the razor just for those times when I feel like using it.

They aren't that expensive to just try. And worst case you can easily sell it.

When using a slant get the blade angle right and use very light pressure or you'll take off more than just hair.
