Acne Scarring

Is there such a thing as acne scarring? I have loads of marks on my face that im sure are not razor bumps or spots, will they ever go away?

If they're truly scars, they may diminish over time, but will rarely disappear completely without treatment. However, acne can cause some very long-lived marks that will, individually, disappear within four to eight months. Your best bet would be to ask your GP his opinion, as it might save you a trip to the dermatologist.

There is a such a thing as acne scars. If I recall correctly, it only affects people that have had a sever case of acne.

Another possibility is rosacea. It makes your face look red, and sometimes causes acne (which is called acne rosacea ). If left untreated, rosacea can thicken your skin causing what look like scars. You should have a doctor look at it. The usual treatment for rosacea is just a mild topical lotion.

This is my experience. These result from treatment by a dermatologist and do not go away, at least mine haven't.
